Meet our Team

Our Team looking after your needs

Val Cook

Practice Manager

My working life started in the hotel/hospitality industry, where I was a receptionist. Then I became assistant manager for many years with a popular hotel chain. Fed up with long unsociable hours I made a career change when I was 40. I successfully applied for a receptionist position at a dental practice in Romanby, which is now OHDC. It’s a really nice, well working team.

Being Practice Manager in such a friendly warm environment makes my day to day job an absolute pleasure. Having been there so long, many of the patients are more like friends. I would like to think that new patients pick up on this and soon feel relaxed in, what are often, not so pleasant reasons for their visit. Our reception desk, where I feel most at home is in the heart of our waiting room. It’s a lovely way to really get to know you.

My family is spread all over the country from Glasgow to Devon, but we are still a close knit bunch. This leaves me little time for hobbies. My spare time is spent on the A1 or the Trans Pennine Line visiting family but every moment spent travelling is worth it when I get there.

I have recently completed Hydrafacial training and have carried out a number of Treatments. My development plan is to train to offer micro needling also.

In my spare time, I like to detail my car, work at 111 and go to the gym.

Becca Smith

Dental Nurse

GDC No. 313127

Having worked in retail for 10 years I was more than ready for a career change!

I have always enjoyed working with people so I was over the moon to be given the opportunity to join the team here at Orchard House.

I am really enjoying my time here so far and I have learnt so much. I feel like I have been welcomed to the team and every day I am continuing to learn new things.

I am a busy mum of three so at the weekends I spend time with my children and my little sausage dog.

More recently he has completed training in Cryotherapy, so he can treat Skin Blemishes and Pigmentation, such as Skin Tags, Solar Lentigo and Actinic & Seborrheic Keratosis etc.

David’s hobbies include Gardening & Sport. He has recently 'caught' the fishing bug and goes whenever he can, although at the moment is still a fair weather fisherman!

Eleanor McGregor

Dental Nurse

GDC No. 297164

Orchard House is the first Dental Practice I have worked at and it is where I became qualified as a Dental Nurse.

OHDC is an amazing environment to learn and grow as a nurse. As a result, it has further fuelled my passion to progress in the dental industry. While working part time here, I am now studying to become a dental hygienist at University. I am loving my Degree Course and everyday I learn something new that can further help me in my role as a Dental Nurse.

Between lectures and nursing there is very little free time for hobbies. However when I can I love to spend time in the gym and looking after my animals on the farm.
