Zoom teeth whitening is an advanced in-practice treatment designed to significantly brighten your smile in a short amount of time.

At Orchard House Dental Care, we use the professional Phillips Zoom whitening system to deliver fast, safe and effective results under clinical supervision. This treatment is ideal for patients looking for immediate improvements, whether for a special occasion or simply to boost confidence.

The procedure involves applying a professional whitening gel to the teeth, which is activated using a specialised light to enhance the whitening process. Most patients achieve a visibly whiter smile in just one appointment.

Before treatment, we carry out a full dental assessment to ensure suitability and minimise sensitivity.

Zoom Whitespeed in action

If you choose ZOOM, your professional teeth whitening treatment starts with us checking your current shade, so we can both see the difference after your treatment is complete.

Once you’re ready, just sit back as your David and the team handle the next steps:

  • He preps your mouth for whitening with cotton rolls etc to protect your lips and gums from irritation, and applies a layer of advanced whitening gel to your teeth
  • To speed up the whitening process, we shine our ZOOM LED lamp onto your teeth for 15 minutes. This accelerates the whitening, plus the lamp’s variable settings ensure you’ll get a comfortable experience.
  • This is repeated 3 times - and is completed in around 60 minutes!
  • Once your treatment is complete, we will apply post-treatment gel to help protect enamel and reduce sensitivity, and give some post treatment instructions.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

When will I See Results?

You'll see an instant result that can be up to 7 shades lighter.

How Long do the Results Last?

This depends on personal dietary and smoking habits. After whitening your teeth will gradually discolour. To keep your whiter smile for longer it is best to avoid smoking and consuming foods / drinks that stain your teeth e.g strong coloured foods / red wine / coffee etc. especially straight after treatment. To maintain your white smile you can also opt for take home trays and home whitening gel. Speak to David about this add on option.

Will I Experience Tooth Sensitivity or Gum Irritation?

It is fairly uncommon to experience tooth sensitivity and / or gum irritation with Zoom whitening, but it can occur. This is temporary and NOT harmful. To alleviate symptoms it may be sensible to use de-sensitising toothpaste before and after the treatment.

Why is this Only Available Through a Dentist?

Professional Whitening is only available on prescription from your dentist because your teeth need to be examined to ensure they are suitable for whitening. Whitening is not a substitute for regular dental care.

Should I Brush my Teeth Before/After?

Your teeth should be cleaned prior to the appointment and if you haven't had a Hygiene appointment for a while, it may be necessary to have one of those first, so that you get maximum results. Afterwards if not necessary, simply rinsing with water will suffice.
