Results

SkinPen and X-CellarisPro Twist create micro channels that carry more topical nutrients into the skin. This increases the absorption of active ingredients. So by stimulating repair at a cellular level, it accelerates the regeneration of the skin’s cells.

What does a Microneedling treatment involve?

First of all, we thoroughly cleanse and clean the skin. Topical Anaesthetic cream can be applied if needed.

Dr. Stephanie will apply either a sterile bespoke skin solution tailored your skin concerns. Or, (optional) your own growth factors derived from your blood (commonly known as the ‘Vampire Facial’ ). Blood derived growth factors in PRP/PRF bring your skin back to life (like a vampire) & accelerate healing.

Then, the microneedling device gently glides over the skin creating 1000’s of precise microchannnels that can deliver these dermofunctional ingredients into the skin.

The needling depth is changed accordingly, for different areas of the face or your skin concerns.

What does it do?

By causing mild damage to your skin in this way, we trigger a healing process that rejuvenates the skin. This encourages collagen production and reduces the appearance of pores, lines, wrinkles and imperfections.

We then apply an appropriate antioxidant/peptide/growth factor serum tailored to your skin concerns and provide you with an aftercare cream to take home.

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling creates small micro-injuries in the skin that stimulate  the skin’s natural ability to heal itself thereby increasing the production of new collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans.

These are 'controlled precise skin injuries' that do not cause significant damage to the epidermis (outer layers of skin).

These microinjuries set off a wound healing 'cascade' with the release of various growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor alpha and beta, connective tissue activating protein, connective tissue growth factor, and fibroblast growth factor.

A microneedling pen uses sterile, individually-sealed, disposable needle cartridges for optimal patient safety and comfort.

Every SkinPen needle tip is actually made up of 14 smaller needles, which penetrate vertically into the skin. The X-CellarisPro device can go up to 150 mHz speed, meaning you can create around 150 micro injuries per second. 9000 by the end of a face treatment!

How many treatments will I need?

We generally recommend a course of 4-6 treatments (roughly one treatment per month) but this will depend on your individual condition and treatment plan.

How long will it take?

A full face can be treated in around 60 minutes. (including time for topical anaesthetic cream to work).

How soon will I see results?

Results typically can be seen after just 1 Microneedling treatment, however cumulative treatments may be required to achieve the full desired result. The regenerating process will continue for up to 24 months post treatment.

Is Microneedling treatment painful?

The exrtremely fast oscillating system increases client tolerance by diffusing the nerve sensation making it a comfortable procedure. However, Dr. Stephanie can apply a topical anaesthetic cream if needed.

Who is this procedure suitable for?

Microneedling is suitable for all skin types. However, it can cause sensitive skin to become irritated, so it may not be appropriate for some people who suffer from skin allergies.

Nanoneedling is also safe during pregnancy.

Please note: Any procedure is only after your face-to-face consultation with Dr. Stephanie. At this appointment she carries out a full assessment and discusses any cautions and contraindications
