How Does the Treatment Work?
Lanluma contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — a clinically proven collagen stimulator. Once injected into the skin, it gradually encourages your body to produce new collagen over the following weeks and months.
This natural rebuilding process means results develop slowly and last longer — typically up to 2 years.
PLLA is biocompatible and biodegradable, meaning your body naturally breaks it down over time. It has a strong safety record in both medical and cosmetic use — including in dissolvable stitches and orthopedic implants.
How long has PLLA been used in aesthetics?
PLLA has been used in aesthetic medicine for over 20 years. It was first introduced in 1999 in Europe under the name Sculptra, to treat facial fat loss in HIV patients.

What to Expect
1. Consultation
We begin with a personalised consultation to understand your goals and assess your skin. Based on your needs, we create a treatment plan tailored just for you.
2. The Procedure
- The treatment takes around 45 minutes.
- A numbing cream is applied for your comfort.
- Lanluma is gently injected into targeted areas using a cannula.
- After treatment, we massage the area to help the product settle smoothly.
3. Recovery
There’s minimal downtime — most clients return to their normal activities the same day.
You may experience some mild redness, swelling or bruising, which usually fades within a few days.
When Will I See Results?
Lanluma doesn’t provide instant results — and that’s the beauty of it. Your skin improves gradually and naturally over several weeks as collagen rebuilds beneath the surface.
Most patients notice visible improvement from around 6–8 weeks, with results continuing to improve up to 3–4 months after treatment.
How Long Does It Last?
With good skincare and aftercare, Lanluma results can last up to 2 years.
Many patients return for maintenance treatments once or twice a year to keep their results looking fresh.
Aftercare Advice
To ensure the best possible results:
- Massage the treated area for the recommended time advised (we’ll show you how).
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas, or sunbeds for a few days.
- Follow your aftercare advice provided.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Lanluma meets ISO standards and is CE-marked with a proven safety profile. It breaks down naturally in the body into lactic acid, which is then eliminated.

As with any injectable treatment, there is a small risk of temporary side effects such as redness, swelling, or mild discomfort. These usually resolve quickly.
